You are at peace now mom. You have suffered too long. Your legacy is in your children and your grandchildren. You were the most talented person I have ever known, and you gave so much to so many! I enjoyed our talks and will miss them dearly! You had your moments but they were because you cared so much. You supported every move I made and when I was in doubt you were my number one fan! Thank you for helping me to be the person I am today. I miss you and love you!

I feel lucky to have known Jan Ladd, albeit briefly. I know that she had a big life force, brought and nurtured 4 good human beings into being, and shared her artistic talent to educate children and create gorgeous paintings inspired by the lovely things in life: music, family, nature. We are lucky to have 3 of her works in our home. I am sleeping under a painting of Half Dome, a rendering she did from a photo I took one winter in Yosemite Valley. Jan met with a terrible fate, and was courageous til the end. Just a few weeks ago I was texting with her explaining my own health situation. In spite of her own troubles, she assured me I would be well cared for when I visited NY. Jan, I will look for you in my garden each time I am there. I will talk with you and remember all the gardening advice you offered. And picture you taking flight with the birds in and around our land. Much Love to you, ~Julie
