Robert C. “Bob” Kowanes Sr., of Central Square, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Bob’s honor at a date and time to be determined.
Bob was born on April 08, 1941, in Oneida, NY, to the late Otto and Arlene “Tiny” Kowanes. He married the late Luella Taber on April 21, 1962. He married Anna Preston at St. Mary’s Church in Cleveland, NY, on September 29, 1984. He dedicated over 40 years to working at Intex Wire Mill, now renamed United Wire Technologies.
Bob had a jocular personality. He loved making people smile. Bob loved frequenting the casino, playing slots and bingo, poker with his friends, fishing, and pretty girls.
Most of all, he was a loving husband and father whose sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers; Otto James Kowanes and Thomas “Skip” Kowanes of Cleveland, NY, and his grandson; Juan Tippers Jr. of Quincy, FL.
Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years; Anna Kowanes, his children; Bonnie Ruettermann of Port St. Lucie, FL, Robert “Bobby” Kowanes Jr. of Booneville, NY, Michele (Juan) Tipper of Quincy, FL, Arlene (Bill) Wilson of Syracuse, NY, and Amanda (Shane) Carrick of Cleveland, NY, his brother; Frederick (Judy) Kowanes of Cleveland, NY, his 9 grandchildren; Mike Taber, Joey Ruettermann, Justin Tipper, Stephanie Lyons, Grayson Smith, Tyler Wilson, Madison Wilson, Mike Kowanes and Garrett Carnick, as well as several great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
