Matthew Jay Obituary

Matthew D. Jay, 29, passed away on November 10, 2021 in the Town of Volney, from a Motor Vehicle accident.

Matt is survived by his parents, David and Rochelle Jay; brother, Dustin W. (Aleshia Gardner); of Mexico, NY; grandparents, William and Cynthia Jay of Volney; Rick and Donna McDonald of Texas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Matt graduated from the Mexico School District. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and logging. He loved 4 wheeling with his brother and friends. He also enjoyed playing pool in 2 pool leagues during the week. Matt was currently employed with Shawn Malone Excavating.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced soon. Matt will then be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In Mat’ s memory, please plant a tree as the forest was his favorite place to be.
