Joyce Snyder Obituary

Joyce Beth Snyder passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her beloved family and loyal dog Shadow, on June 17, 2020.

Joyce was born in Syracuse, NY, on April 5, 1940, to Ralph and Elsie Howard. She married her soulmate, Peter L. Snyder, on June 27, 1959. She received a degree in the Practice of Hairdressing and Cosmetology in 1960. In 1964, she and her family moved to Hialeah, FL, and in 1980, they moved to Virginia Beach, VA. Finally, in 1988, she returned to Central New York and settled into her final home at the edge of the woods in Bernhards Bay. There, she followed her dreams, achieving her black belt in karate in 1999 and becoming an LPN in 2003 and working at Dignity Plus in Central Square, NY. She was a kind, loving, funny, and beautiful woman, and she is deeply missed by many.

Remembering her today are her husband Peter L. Snyder, son Peter H. Snyder (Kathy Snyder), daughter Jessica Cassidy (Paul Cassidy), and son Timothy Snyder (Trish Snyder), sister Jeannie Gravlin, nieces Heather Gravlin and Tina Gravlin, granddaughters Brianne Nessmiller (Tyler), Emily Meyers (Jordan), Marie Madak (Joe), Julia Sentman (Kelly), Amanda Cummo (Michael Demauro), Scarlett Yaddow, Fiona Snyder, and Vanessa Snyder, great grandchildren Elaina Nessmiller and Mason Demauro, and great nephew Caleb Gravlin.
