Joseph “Joe” Cosimano, 83, of Central Square, New York, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Joe was born on March 5, 1943, in Fulton, New York, to the late Joseph Cosimano Sr. and Josephine Ware. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth "Betty" Cosimano and his granddaughter, Sarah Tanyer. The family finds comfort in knowing Joe and Betty are reunited once again after being apart for more than five years.
He attended school in Fulton, New York before eventually settling in Central Square, New York, where he built a life centered on family and hard work. Joe worked in maintenance at Bristol Myers Squibb for more than 36 years. He was known by those who loved him as a strong, dependable man who could always be counted on. More than anything, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Joe enjoyed camping and traveling with his family, spending time outdoors, woodworking, collecting stamps and coins, and watching NCIS. He found his greatest joy in being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his final days, Joe was surrounded by the love of his five daughters, their families, and countless cherished memories.
Those who knew Joe will remember his strength, resilience, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. Even during difficult times, he faced life’s challenges with courage and grace.
He is survived by his daughters: Debra (Albert) Tanyer, Diane (Gregory) Stuck, Anne Marie (Richard) McPherson, Kimberley Chernutan, and Keri (Darrel) Lennox; his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends whom he loved dearly.
