Obituary
James “Jim” Ivan Greenwood, Sr was surrounded by his family as he lost his battle to Cancer on November 15, 2022 in Syracuse. He was born on May 7, 1958 to the late Charles and the late Marie (Nolan) Greenwood. Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Greenwood, Jr on April 15, 2020.
Jim graduated from Paul V. Moore High School and then went on to serve with the United States Navy. He worked as a Drywall finisher for over 45 years. Jim loved hunting, trapping, fishing, snowmobiling, and pretty much anything to do with the outdoors. He absolutely loved spending time with Emma and being a “Bumpa”.
Jim is survived by his son, Seth and his wife, Amy L. Sammet; his granddaughter, Emma Marie Sammet; his sister, Deborah Greenwood; brother, Charlie Greenwood; great uncle, James Nolan; niece, Vanessa; and his nephews, Joseph and Aaron.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 4- 6 PM at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Rich Barling officiating. Burial will take place in the Spring in West Monroe Cemetery.
