Frederick Philip Edinger II, 67, of Parish passed away at St. Luke’s Residential Health Care Facility on November 1, 2023. He was born fighting on 11/19/55 to the late Leonard and Jane (Kreischer) Edinger and spent his whole life showing his kids how strong he was as he fought different health issues, never losing his trademark sense of humor and wit. Fred was a lifelong resident of Parish, NY. He began working full-time before graduating from Paul V. Moore High School in 1973. He spent his last 17 years of employment at Miller’s Brewing Company, where he was also a proud member and union steward of Machinists Union Local 2587. Fred was a long time member of the Little Roaring Brook Club in Osceola, NY and volunteered with the Lions Club. Fred loved cracking jokes, dogs, spending time at hunting camp, playing the guitar with his kids, listening to Johnny Cash, eating a rare steak, and reading true crime books, but the thing that brought him the most pleasure and pride were his nine children.
He is survived by his loving children: Erika Edinger, Daniel (Antonia) Edinger, Kassie (Patrick Hart) Edinger, Frederick (Alexandra) Edinger, Anna (Scott) Revette, Jacob (Dena) Edinger, Alex Edinger, Michael (Kaelee) Edinger, and Johnathan Edinger, and his grandchildren Nicholas, Sherrey, Audrie, Larry, Jack, Jeremy, Tirzah, Samuel, Theodore, Malcolm, Philip, Roman, Cameron, Liam, and Emilia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his brothers Larry and Leonard Edinger.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square on Monday afternoon from 3-5pm. Funeral services will be held at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Upstate NY Chapter of the MS Society, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Suite 900, Rochester, NY 14620 or the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of New York, 120 Broadway, Suite 1050A, New York, NY 10271.
