Eugene “Geno” Plyter, 86, of West Monroe, New York, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away quietly with his family by his side on Wednesday April 1, 2026.
Born June 23rd 1939, in Rochester New York, son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Orbaker Plyter. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 6.5 years. While stationed at Highlands AFB in New Jersey he met is wife of 60 years, Ann D. Caren of Eatontown, New Jersey. He retired from Hoffman Air and Filtration Systems, East Syracuse, NY after 32 years. He worked cleaning the Brewerton branch of the Bank Of America for 10years just to keep busy.
Geno was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Toronto Blue Jays as well as a love of all things NASCAR. In high school he was a four year varsity baseball letterman. He was in many local sports leagues, golf, softball, horseshoes, corn hole and bowling.
Geno is survived by his wife, the former Ann Caren of West Monroe New York; daughter, Elizabeth (James Pitts) Plyter of Caughdenoy, New York; son Robert (Naomi) Plyter of Syracuse, New York; grandchildren Aaron (Megan) Plyter of Lakeland, New York; Tobias Plyter, Liberty Plyter; great-grandchildren, Madison Plyter, Sophia Plyter; sister-in-law, Irene Kemp of Eatontown, New Jersey, sister, Elaine Bartlett of North Syracuse, New York; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 with services to follow immediately at Traub Funeral Home, Inc., 684 North Main Street, Central Square, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to either the American Heart Association or the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
