Obituary

Dominick P. “Dom” Maio, 81, of Bernhards Bay, NY, died September 11, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his wife, Tammy, children Joe Maio, Gina (Bob) Maloney, Jeff (Susan) Mitchell, Traci (John) Mitchell, Jon (Shelby) Mitchell; grandchildren Ericka, Matthew, Daniel, Alya, Jake and Sam; siblings Katie, Anna and Angie; nephews James (Kim) Maio, David (Kim) Freson and Donnie (Nadine) Freson along with cherished great nieces and nephews and best canine friend, Dozer. He was preceded in death by his parents; Guiseppe and Pasqualina Maio. 


Dom was an accomplished executive in the communications equipment industry, as well as an avid nature photographer. A Marine Corps veteran, Dom was a life member of the Greater Syracuse Detachment 224 Marine Corps League. As the founder of Good Ole Boys Bass Club of CNY, he tirelessly dedicated time and passion to developing young anglers on his beloved Oneida Lake.

Friends may call Monday, September 14, from 4 – 7 p.m. Private services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetary, Cleveland, NY.
