~A Remarkable Man
There was nothing that that Dad couldn’t do. He was a strong man, not only physical but in mind and spirit as well. He always beat the odds whenever he was dealt a hand. Dad loved everybody and everything. He always had a passion for all of God’s creatures like birds, dogs, cats, chipmunks, I used to say he reminds me of Dr. Doolittle. There were all kinds of feeders around his property that all the wild life would look forward to having something to eat and Dad loved to watch them through his large window at the table. Dad also raised some horses in a barn that he built and there were some pigs and ducks out back in the pen. Dad has built everything from his own house to wood stoves, barbeque rotisseries. I remember a boiler system that he had built that included black hose coiled up on the roof, so the sun would preheat the water before the electricity had to warm the water. Dad was a very economical and conservative person and knew how to survive in life with the bare essentials, if there was something that he needed and didn’t have it, he built it. One of his latest inventions was a grass catcher trailer for his riding mower that would clean the leaves and debris out with a cordless drill some wire rope and pullies. I had the honor and the privilege to know this remarkable man for about 46 of his 90 years. With all his skills, love and knowledge that Dad had, he must have been needed some other place. I know they will be as proud to have and know him as we all were. May he Rest in Peace That Remarkable Man, DAD
