Helen P. Day, 88, a 60-year resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday. Helen enjoyed supporting her community in various ways, including volunteering at the library and the American Legion Auxiliary, among others. She was the pianist at the Cleveland Episcopal Church, then at the Cleveland and Constantia Methodist Churches for countless years. Helen was an active member of The Red Hats Society and The Syracuse Chorale, and an avid golfer with the Cleveland Golf League. In her youth she was a pilot and in later years was well-traveled, as she had always dreamed. Helen is predeceased by her husband, George R. Day and son, Peter.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Miles, of Arkansas; children, Madeline (Stephen) Sauer; George Michael (Charleen) Day, Sean (Ruth) Day, Maureen (Michael McMahon) Cooke, Timothy (Deborah) Day, Marjorie (Donald) Robertson, Barbara (Andrew) Goranson, and Meredith Duke; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Constantia Methodist Church at 11 AM, Saturday, June 2nd.
Burial will be private.
