Donald J Plantz, Sr

Donald J. Plantz, Sr., of Central Square, passed away peacefully on Wednesday.

Born to Fordie and Mary Belle Plantz of Lacona,  Don served with the US Navy during the Korean War.  He retired with Western Electric where he worked as an Installer for over 30 years.  Don proudly served as Past Commander for Lacona VFW Post #8534 and former member of Central Square American Legion Post #915. Don was instrumental with the building of the baseball fields in Hastings. He enjoyed bowling, doing crossword puzzles, and most importantly spending time with family.  

Don  is predeceased by his wife Josephine  Plantz. He is survived by his children Donald (Joan) Plantz, Jr., Michael (Gloria) Plantz, and Kevin (Debbie) Plantz; grandchildren Harry W. Dixon III "Boomer" and Kyle Plantz.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 am, at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square.  Calling Hours will be held on Monday, 3 pm to 6 pm, at the funeral home.  Burial will be held immediately after the Funeral Service in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
