Charlotte Jean Mack, 89, of Central Square, formerly of Cicero, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (9/24).
Charlotte (Coon) grew up in Scriba, NY in a family that owned and operated a dairy farm. Following graduation at Oswego High School, she married Clarence "Erwin" Mack on January 14, 1949. They raised nine children. Before retiring, she worked as an accountant at Chappell's Department store in North Syracuse. Most of her time was spent actively involved in raising a big family and she also enjoyed camping, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She has generously crocheted baby blankets for donation to Oswego Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence "Erwin" Mack (2010); and one sister, Betty Joan Guyle (2014).
Charlotte is survived by three sons: Tom (Wendy) of Central Square; Ron (Laura) of Seattle, WA; and Rick Mack of Fulton; six daughters: Sandy (Doug, Jr.) Johnson of Pennellville; Judi (Dave) Hales of Central Square; Dottie (Ken) Carlson of Cortland; Betsy (Dave) Stoutenger of Oswego; Terri (Jim) Austin of Florida, and Wendy (Pete) Barnett of Watertown; one sister Iris Janette O'Gorman; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Calling Hours: Friday, 9/27 4 to 6 p.m. with a brief service following at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main Street, Central Square. Burial: Saturday, 9/28 at 10 a.m. at North Scriba Union Cemetery, Route 1, North Scriba, NY.
