Anthony R. Doherty

Anthony R. Doherty, 80, of Palermo, NY passed away on Jan 17, 2020.  He was born July 14, 1939 in Lewiston, ME and lived in Berlin, NH until 3 years old.  The family moved to Boston in 1942 and this is where Anthony made his home until 2012.  He was the beloved son of the late Mary R. Doherty of Boston, MA.  

During his life, Tony’s passion was directed toward his Catholic faith, writing and poetry as well as outdoor adventures such as sled-dog racing with his daughter.  He worked at Raytheon for much of his working life.

Anthony leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Brigitte M. Doherty; his daughters Jessica S. Doherty of Palermo, NY, Cynthia Chiu of Bellows Falls, VT, Juanita Belleville of Bellows Falls, VT, and Sylvia McCue of Lynn, MA; and grandchildren Philip Chiu, Dylan Chiu, Samantha Chiu, Danielle Chiu, John Belleville-Young, Alexandra Young, Nina Young, Serena Kenney, Justin Kenney, Dane Kenney, Cassidy Driscoll, and Maria Weir.  

Viewing followed by a Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday morning, January 22, at 9am, at Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square, NY followed by burial at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Baldwinsville.  If you are moved to, please consider donating to any Alzheimers research or support organization of your choice.
