Eldon "Dean" Drake

Eldon Dean Drake, 92, of Central Square, NY passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024 with his family by his side. 

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday, June 15 at 11:30AM.

 Dean was born in Watertown, NY, son of Chester and Maude Drake. His younger years were spent in Philadelphia, NY where his family owned Drake Electric Company. Dean then served in the US Navy for 4 years, stationed aboard the USS Mindoro. Following his military service, Dean graduated from Canton College.  He went on to a 33 year career with IBM as a systems engineer.

 Dean married Ann Raymon of Theresa, NY  on June 2, 1956 and together they raised their children in Central Square, NY, where Dean was involved with Boy Scouts and the American Legion (70 year member). He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Ann Raymon Drake, sons Larry(Trudy) of Greenville, ME and Dale(Stacy) of Skaneateles, NY and daughter Lori(Matt) of Theresa, NY.  He was predeceased in death by infant daughter Martha Lee Drake.  Dean is also survived by 4 grandchildren and one great grandson.
