Rose C. Messere, 96, of West Monroe, passed peacefully on Friday at Iroquois Nursing Home.
Born to Carmen and Angelina Caiella, Rose was a lifelong resident of West Monroe, where she owned and operated RM Beauty Salon. Rose was a communicant of Divine Mercy Parish, Central Square and a member of 49ers Square Dance Group. Upon retirement, Rose and her husband Angelo "Jack" enjoyed their winters in Florida.
Rose is predeceased by her husband in 1990 and her five siblings. She is survived by her children Geraldine Whitney, Jane (Daniel) Mayock, and John (Paula) Messere; grandchildren Deborah, Alicia, Kim, Monica, Cory, Adrian, and Jeremy; and six great grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Traub Funeral Home, 684 North Main St., Central Square. A Graveside Service will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square. Contributions may be made to SOVAC, 8 Gertrude Drive, Central Square, NY 13036.
