Nelson L. Lansing, 80, formerly of Bridgeport, NY passed away peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home on Thursday.  Born in East Syracuse, he is the son of Willis E. and Lula E. Lansing.  Nelson graduated from East Syracuse High School and Syracuse University.  He married the love of his life Dian A. Ford, and was happily married for 59 years.  Nelson and Dian lived in Mattydale with their children until they moved to Bridgeport in 1976.  Nelson was an Electrical Engineer at Crouse-Hinds/Cooper Industries, who can boast of several patents to his name and sadly retired in 1999 after 43 years of a job he truly enjoyed.  Nelson was an avid Syracuse sports fan.  He enjoyed living on the lake, fishing, bowling, playing pitch and pinochle with his friends.  Nelson was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who had a love for his family beyond words.  We will miss his infectious whistling, funny skit “step by step” and puttering around the house as well as jingling of the change in his pocket.

The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the excellent care that Nelson received at Iroquois.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Dian A Lansing, his children, Vickie Haas(William), Scott Lansing, Constance Tessier (Sean), Tamatha Davison (Scott)

Grandchildren:  Kerry Shanahan (Annie), Stephanie Shanahan (Nathan Curran), Brittney Lelonek (Jay), Kyle Tessier, Cory Davison, Kaitlyn Davison, Luke Lansing, Audi Lansing

Great Grandchildren: Layla, Whitney and Carter, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours are 4 to 7 pm Monday October 2nd at Traub Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Services will be 10 am Tuesday October 3rd, at the Funeral home.

Burial to follow at Collamer Cemetary
