Joel "Spartacus" Waterman, 54, of Altmar, died unexpectedly Saturday, doing what he loved. Joel worked as a tin knocker for the Sheet Metal Workers Local 58. Joel was an author, shaman, kindred spirit, ordained minister, big medicine, world traveler (mostly on his iron), and lover of life (especially women). Those who met him were better for it. He lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his father Stew, and mother, Catherine. 

He is survived by his brothers Jim, John, and Jerry; a niece; several nephews; and many brothers and sisters that ride. 

There will be no calling hours or a service. Instead a celebration of life gathering will be held at the Altmar Hotel, Sunday, September 24th at noon.
