Gladys Breckheimer (Myers; Scheemaker), 95, of Hastings, NY passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 with her loving family and best buddy Harley at her side.

Gladys was born January 19, 1922 in Mallory, NY to the late Effie and Emmett Myers. She was one of seven children and was a graduate of Central Square High School. During WWII she worked at Crouse Hinds and spent over 25 years working as a teller and head teller, starting with the First National Bank of Central Square and retiring from Bank of America. She also ran a Dairy Farm with her first husband Francis R. Scheemaker who passed away in 1979. She then married Arthur Breckheimer in 1981 who passed away in 2002.  

Gladys had a love of the outdoors and spent a lot of her time in her garden or just enjoying watching the birds in her many birdfeeders. She loved animals, especially horses, and for the past eight years her best buddy, Harley, has been by her side.

She is predeceased by her parents, siblings Arthur, Harold, Clyde and Robert Myers, her sister Dorothy Flower and her husband’s Francis and Arthur.

Surviving family members include her loving son Bobby and wife Marydiane Scheemaker; granddaughter Anastasia Socie (Scheemaker), Son-in-Law Kris Socie and great granddaughter Ariana; Grandson Joshua Scheemaker and Daughter-in-Law Christine Scheemaker (Wright); Sister Doris Rowe and many, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 18 from 4 to 7pm at Traub Funeral home in Central Square, NY.  A funeral service will follow immediately at 7pm. A private burial will occur in the Spring. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
